Graduate Research Assistant
Andrea Moore is the Graduate Research Assistant for DCEDC via a partnership with the NIU Department of Geography. Andrea assists the Executive Director with the collection and analysis of data for information requests and to assemble reports and presentations. She also maintains the DCEDC property listings database and assists with events, website maintenance, and coordination of DCEDC Business Retention and Expansion Committee meetings and site visits.
Andrea earned a Certificate in Geographic Information Analysis in 2016 and will graduate from NIU with a Master of Science degree in Geography in May 2017. After graduation, she will begin the PhD program in Geography at NIU, continuing her research and outreach activities in economic development and growth and regional planning. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in History with a minor in Sociology from Western Illinois University in 2008. Andrea has six years of experience as a licensed educator in middle and high school social studies and special education.
Recent professional development includes completion of the 2016 Illinois Basic Economic Development Course, a 32 credit hour nationally-recognized training program for professionals new to the economic development field.
