DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Wins Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award

DCEDC is pleased to recognize our partner, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce on their Chamber of the Year award.  Matt Duffy, Executive Director for the Chamber also serves as a member of the DCEDC Board of Directors.  Congratulations to Matt and your highly capable team for this well-deserved recognition.

The DeKalb Chamber of Commerce, under the leadership of Executive Director Matt Duffy, IOM, impressed the judges with their programs and outreach. Collaborations including DeKalb’s First Impressions training series for students along with their Campus Meets Community – a great idea for all college towns to replicate – and Ambassadors program are most impressive. DeKalb Chamber’s Social Media Mob, noted one of the judges, is something all chambers should emulate. And the bi-lingual recently revamped website is a great way to provide services for a diverse audience,” said Mirinda Rothrock, IOM, 2022 IACCE Board Chair and President & CEO of the Decatur Regional Chamber of Commerce.

For nearly 100 years, the DeKalb Chamber of Commerce has worked together with members to provide support and assistance to help the area’s business climate. The DeKalb Chamber continues to expand and evolve to meet the needs of members through providing a wide variety of opportunities to assist area businesses and organizations to grow and contribute to the economic stability of the community.

“Serving the business community in the DeKalb area is something that we take pride in as an organization and getting recognized on a larger scale is just icing on the cake. Our Board, Staff and Volunteers are proud of being responsive to our members’ needs and being welcoming to businesses, visitors, and residents alike,” said Matt Duffy, DeKalb Chamber of Commerce Executive Director. “Working with the IACCE has been a tremendous resource to help us accomplish our goals and fill the needs of our community.”

The IACCE Outstanding Chamber of the Year Award recognizes organization excellence in chambers of commerce and provides a unique benchmarking opportunity to assess a chamber’s strengths. The award is based on the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s accreditation process for local chambers and highlights accomplishments in the areas of leadership, governance, finance, advocacy, and membership development.
