Facebook donates to D.C.U.S.D. #428 STEAM
Facebook is not only investing 800 million dollars into DeKalb County with the construction of the DeKalb Data Center, they are providing employment, while they give back to the community and the students.
Recently, the social media giant donated $12,000 to the DeKalb Community Unit School District #428 Robotics program. Students from DeKalb High School, Huntley Middle School, and Clinton Rosette Middle School will be provided with additional resources to fuel their interest in Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM). The grant will provide in-school hands-on experiential learning.
As Matt Sexton stated during a recent summit he presented at with DCEDC Executive Director Paul Borek, the City of DeKalb is like “cradle to career”.
This generous donation demonstrates Facebook’s commitment to the communities in which they operate. DCEDC is proud to work closely with Facebook and the DeKalb Data Center team.
