Important update from the DeKalb County Health Department

Good Afternoon,

In conjunction with Region 1 Local Health Departments, the DeKalb County Health Department sent a news release earlier this week urging community members to take additional action now in preventing COVID-19.

We are asking officials to let the Health Department know of any events in advance so that we can work with those managing an event in a timely manner to make recommendations on how to safely host an event keeping in mind the Restore Illinois Phase 4 Guidelines.

As with everyone we do not want to go backward in the Restore Illinois plan. If the region does enter the warning level, as a region, we will then need to have positivity rates at or below 6.5% for 3 consecutive days. If we work together to follow mitigation efforts, we can bring the rate down now, without having to adopt additional mitigation measures.

If you know of events, please email the COVID19@dekalbcounty.org email address so that we can contact those managing the event to ask for their safety plans.

Thank you,

DeKalb County Health Department
