OSF HealthCare Completes Renovations
DCEDC is proud to share this news from one of our long-time members, OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. DCEDC congratulates OSF HealthCare on their recent renovations at the Saint Anthony Medical Center. Please read below a message from our members and see the attached photos that feature the new renovations!
OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center has been committed to the Rockford region for more than 117 years. As the needs of the community grow and change, so, too, have the services OSF provides to the region.
That includes the addition of our new North Tower, a 144,000 square-foot, four-story building attached to the existing hospital. It will house 78 private rooms for medical and surgical beds. In the existing hospital, semi-private rooms will be eventually converted to private rooms, allowing for a total of 190 private rooms.
In addition, the North Tower will feature ambulatory services on the first floor, including PromptCare, women’s health center/rejuvenation services, retail pharmacy, expanded occupational health and weight management services, a demonstration kitchen as well as a coffee shop. Each medical floor will have a case manager office, family lounge, and three nursing stations. The cost of the project is $85 million and has brought 700 construction jobs to the area.
“Times have changed where patients now need private rooms for many reasons,” said Paula Carynski, president of OSF HealthCare Saint Anthony Medical Center. “Enhancing the experience for our patients, families, Mission Partners and medical staff is always at the forefront of our planning. Private rooms and a more modern setting will truly help with that endeavor. We are also pleased to be able to make such a tremendous investment in our community through this expansion.”
